(Buenos Aires, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Cristian Galarza, ASAP Director, was interviewed by SoloAzar within its 13th anniversary in the Panamanian market. The firm has offices in Argentina, Panama, Colombia, Peru and Miami. Galarza talked about the current situation of the gaming sector due to the pandemic, and about the new normal, among other issues.

ASAP Panama celebrates its 13th anniversary in the market

"ASAP was created in 1998 as a continuation of my activity as a Customs Broker that I had been doing since 1982," said Galarza, who added: "At that time we were already doing businesses that were complementary to customs clearance (international transport, storage, etc.) and we thought it was convenient to give a new format to the business ".

In that same year ASAP entered the gaming sector with SAGSE. "Giorgio Gennari called me to collaborate in the logistics of the show (which at that time was held at Sheraton Hotel), and since then, we have been working in this sector. Over the years, we have established ourselves in the Argentine market, and we started to carry out some operations in Latin America. We became official agents of gaming fairs in Colombia, Mexico and Panama. On the other hand, the Panamanian market was expanding at that time, and with whom was our local agent (and now is my partner in that country, Miguel Angel Cuadra) we decided to found ASAP Panama thirteen years ago: on July 1, 2007 ".

Then, the director of ASAP talks about the challenges that the company had to go through in these years: "The challenges in the different countries of Latin America are very similar: political and economic instability, permanent changes in legislation, and added to all this, it is particular ingredient of the gaming industry, an activity subject to political decisions that can affect (for very good or very bad) the players in the sector."

Today ASAP has offices in Argentina, Panama, Colombia, Peru and Miami. "We do not have plans to open offices in other markets at the moment, since through the current offices we can supply the entire region. In addition, in the situation we are going through these days we have to be very cautious regarding investment plans and As it is known, this industry is one of the hardest hit by the consequences of the pandemic, and we will only be able to know "the new normal" once all the restrictions have been lifted. "

When asked about the general situation of the region's sector, he commented: "The general situation is difficult. As I mentioned before (and as we all know) casinos are closed in most of the region, we do not know when they will reopen or We also do not know the damage that inactivity may have caused to operators for so long. ASAP has operations with other sectors (different operations in different markets), which allows us to carry out our activities. But we also feel the effects of the crisis, we are working for the future to continue providing the sector with excellent services, and complying with the biosafety protocols that apply in each case.
